Initial Consultation

“BASELINE SESSION”

Identify KPI’s for golf, using our state-of-the-art VALD testing equipment.

This session will give inform Liam on what to build your plan around, highlighting weaknesses, upper vs lower or asymmetries left vs right.

Phase 1 

“GENERAL PREPERATION” - (1 Nov - 31 Jan)

This phase will be to develop the ‘General’ capacities and build a strong foundation.

The content will vary person to person due to being bespoke and will set the scene for more specific work to come in phase 2.

Face-to-Face Consultation & Baseline Testing Session

Get in touch to book in for your first face-to-face baseline session here at Athlete 1st.

Firstly, Sam will identify

You will then receive a report on strengths, weaknesses, asymmetries and what your training plan will focus on!

Time - 2 hours

Details for the session:-

1st hour - Force & Power Development Assessment using our VALD ForceDecks

2nd hour - Mobility & Movement Screen looking at specific joints ranges crucial to your golf swing.

What to bring - Yourself, a water bottle, a notebook & phone so we can log you in on the app ‘TeamBuildr’

“I first started with Liam 7 years ago late 2016 early 2017 because I wanted golf specific training instead of generic gym training as I was looking at potential avenues to help me hit the ball further.

From December 2022 I decided to take this training more seriously and go into Long Drive. It is all about generating & maximising distance through high club-head & high ball speeds. S&C training is one of the bigger roles in being able to swing a golf club at 140+mph.

Meet the Coaches

Liam Colbon

Founder & Head Coach

Having played golf his whole life, Liam got down to hcp at the age of 4 aged 14. The demands of being an aspiring then professional rugby player then took over. He has helped young aspiring golfers and parents navigate their development, professional players, aspiring long driver professionals and any recreational golfers become more physically prepared to do what they love. Liam will work with Sam to interpret the baseline testing data gathered, then create your bespoke programming and roadmap to success.

Sam runs the ‘Athlete Testing’ here at Athlete 1st. Within the ‘Golf Performance Plan’, he will look at lower & upper body power, strength, mobility & identifying any asymmetries.
