I started my career 15 years ago in rugby league playing at the highest level in the Super League Competition for Wigan Warriors, Hull KR, London Broncos and Hull FC.
Throughout my 15 years I had many ups and downs. I went from being fit and playing each week to suffering a series of career threatening injuries and setbacks.
When I was at London Broncos I kept getting injured and my career looked like it was going to be cut short. I took the initiative to research and find a running and movement specialists who could uncover the issues that were responsible for my injuries. Understanding how these injuries occurred and methods to train and avoid these happening in the future allowed me to continue my career for another 3 years.
Whilst I was still playing for Hull FC, I started to realise my career was in its final stages as the years of injuries took their toll. I decided to retire but continue to be involved in the industry of strength and conditioning athletes. This is when I formed Athlete 1st and continue to pass on my knowledge and experience to my clients.
