What’s Included?
Complete Training Audit - Identifying your current strengths, weaknesses & limitations within your current training program.
Baseline Testing - A comprehensive & bespoke Athlete Performance Testing session with our Sports Scientist, giving real-time metrics, allowing us to identify your current progress with regards to our Key Performance Indidcators.
Interpretation & Feedback - A report explaining your results from your baseline testing, including and imbalance analysis & data-backed goals & targets.
Implementations - The next 4-weeks are all about learning and implementing your new training plan into your current schedule. You will complete modules explaining the weekly focus, outcomes of the day and information underpinning your training plans, methods & principles.
Advancement - At the end of the Discovery Phase, we’ll sit down (virtually or in-person) to review your progress results and what you have learnt along the way. From there, you’ll have the option to transition into our full bespoke coaching with a plan that’s already built on your data and development needs. The last 4-weeks has given us the perfect foundation to build a completely personalised program down to the most finite of details.
What You’ll Get?
Athlete Education - We don’t just give you a new training program, we explain what we are doing and why we do it, giving you a better understanding of your training. We have found that this creates more buy-in and commitment to plans as athletes understand why we give them what we do and why it is so important for them to execute it correctly.
Personalized Athletic Testing – We use elite-level technology including VALD ForceDecks, DynaMo & SmartSpeed Gates to analyze your indivudual mobility, strength, power output, and movement efficiencies in a multitude of situations. Within your training audit, you will fill out questionnaires which allows us to pinpoint excatly what assessments we need to carry out based upon your current training, injuries, prior knowledge and demands from your specific sport.
Live Strength & Mobility Coaching –

The most exclusive part of the day is the hands-on training provided to;
a. Run you through a discovery section in which we understand what exercise you excel on and some exercises you may never have even considered before attending that workshop.
b. To introduce, assess, address or correct any new exercises in which we will look to give based upon the finding of the previous assessment and discovery sections.
Performance Blueprint – A structured, data-driven plan designed to enhance your training plan , recovery, and overall athletic performance will be created. After your session, Liam and Sam will sit-down and collate your results to build you a comprehensive, data-backed training plan. We will talk through and explain this plan to you, how this plan will look in the first 4-weeks of the discovery phase and how this may change when you sign up for the subscription. We will also explain how this plan will change over the coming months and change over the course of you off, pre and in-season periods.
After your 4-week discovery phase you are eligible for enrolment onto Athlete 1st Forever Athlete Online Subscription.

This is an Online training program delivered via our athlete1st app.
This is an exclusively online training program, written bespokely for you, based upon the results of your assessment.
You will get weekly feedback, looking at your form along with analysis of how your weights/reps are progressing.
This also includes ongoing program build & re-design plus quarterly testing & re-analysis sessions included.
Session will always be uploaded in 24hrs post any re-analysis sessions.

Liam Colbon
Founder & Head Coach
Having played golf his whole life, Liam got down to hcp at the age of 4 aged 14. The demands of being an aspiring then professional rugby player then took over. He has helped young aspiring golfers and parents navigate their development, professional players, aspiring long driver professionals and any recreational golfers become more physically prepared to do what they love. Liam will work with Sam to interpret the baseline testing data gathered, then create your bespoke programming and roadmap to success.

Sam runs the ‘Athlete Testing’ here at Athlete 1st. Within the ‘Golf Performance Plan’, he will look at lower & upper body power, strength, mobility & identifying any asymmetries.

What is the 4-Week Discovery Phase?
The Discovery Phase is the starting point of your Forever Athlete journey.
Over four weeks, we assess your physical profile, establish performance baselines, and introduce you to our coaching systems, all while you begin training.
It’s our way of ensuring the long-term plan fits you.
Who is the Discovery Phase designed for?
This phase is ideal for athletes who are ready to take their training seriously but want to start with a structured introduction. Whether you're returning from injury, stuck in a plateau, or craving a more personalized approach.

We use this time to gather data, understand your needs, and make sure our systems match your goals, needs and schedule

I don’t play a sport. Can I still sign up?
Of course! We have many individuals that don’t play sport come to the gym. Many whom have found their passion here, not only getting stronger, but also increasing their confidence and learning more in-depth about what you’re training and why.
